3 Duncan Hollow/Knob A A 12 mile circuit hike to Duncan Knob with 2200' elevation gain. 4 Staunton River A This is a difficult 13 mile circuit hike in the southern part of the central section of Shenandoah National Park. Total elevation change is 2700 feet. We will start at the park boundary and follow the scenic Staunton River Trail along the river to its source and continue to The Sag. We will return on the Jones Mountain Trail. 5 Edinburg Gap B This is a moderate 8.2 mile linear hike on top of Massanutten's Powell Mountain. 1100 feet elevation change. Hike will start at the Woodstock Lookout Tower and take the Massanutten Trail south to Edinburg Gap. 8 Woodstock Tower A This is a 13.3 mile one-way hike on Massanutten's Three Top Mountain with an elevation gain of 2000'. Hike will start at the Signal Knob Parking lot on the Massanutten Trail. 30 Old Rag Summit A This is perhaps the most famous and spectacular hike in the area. Nine miles with about 2,200 feet of elevation gain. Steep trail with lots of rock scrambling and boulder hopping near the summit. Slow/moderate pace (2 mi/hr). We will ascend by Ridge Trail and descend by Saddle Trail.
